Introduction to High Intensity Training for Occupational Therapy: Translating Neurorehabilitation Research into Real-World Occupational Performance
This course prepares occupational therapy practitioners to confidently integrate high-intensity, occupation-based neurorehabilitation principles into practice with stroke survivors.
The 2.5-contact-hour self-paced online course explores the foundational concepts that support high-intensity intervention, including therapeutic use of self, neuroplasticity, the Four Pillars of Occupational Mobility, clinical safety parameters, and standardized assessments used to guide clinical decision-making and measure outcomes.
Participants may choose the Guided Implementation Experience, which includes four live virtual implementation sessions over four weeks and access to a private community group. These additional supports provide opportunities to ask questions, discuss clinical application, problem-solve challenges, and build confidence implementing course concepts in real-world practice.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be equipped with practical strategies to safely increase treatment intensity while maintaining a meaningful, occupation-centered approach to neurorehabilitation.
